No doubt about it. It’s hard because reaching our 21st century students is difficult; they think so differently than we do. It’s hard because it is not just about transferring content into our students’ little brains. Just teaching is simply not enough.

And providing our students with a foundation to learn SKILLS that enable them to learn beyond our classroom walls. Skills they will need in the future for jobs that may not even exist yet.

I am Amy Wendel, the Tech Crazy Teacher, and I am a small-town girl from Southeast Missouri transplanted by the Army to Clarksville, Tennessee. My 2 children consider themselves Tennesseans. I have a son and a daughter who are both attending the University of Tennessee, in Knoxville. You really can't get much more Tennessee than that! I have had to learn how to say things like, "Go Big Orange!" and, “Vol for life!” Yikes!

I have a Early Childhood Degree, a Masters in Education, and too many classes on (or is it in) technology to count! I have been teaching for over 15 years and recently made the switch to Educational Technologist. I have taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 3rd grade. I teach on an Army installation and all of my kiddos have soldiers for parents. I love supporting them as they serve our country!
